Director Caitlin Cano
Ms. Cano is from Porter, Texas and fell in love with dancing at an early age. She has been dancing for the past two decades at local dance studios in Houston and competed in numerous competitions. She has won awards in the categories of team, solo, duet, and officer categories. Her passion for dance grew when she joined her high school’s drill team the New Caney Bluebonnets. Being a four year member as well as an officer for three of the years, she had opportunities to compete and dance in places such as Florida and New York. Her passion for drill team grew into her career choice as she went to Stephen F. Austin’s State University for a Bachelors of Science in Dance Education. While at SFA, she was a member as well as on the Leadership Team for the dance company Dancer’s Against Cancer; a nonprofit organization designed to raise money for cancer research through the power of dance. After graduating, she became the Head Director for the Splendora Stars. Now she is delighted to be the Head Director for Northbrook’s Bandoleras and Babyleras. Her message she wants to leave with her students is to always dance with your heart and strive for excellence.
